Indian Culture
On Friday last week we were very lucky to have Adu’s mum Pri
come in and teach us some things about the Indian culture.
She put little dots on all of the girls’ foreheads which are called bindi’s.

She read us two stories – one about the different places in India and one about a festival they celebrate called Diwali.
She taught us to count to ten in Hindi.
We were very lucky at the end to try some Indian sweets too!
We also learnt that the national bird in India is the peacock, and the national animal is a tiger. Thank you Pri!
How great to learn about India from Pri and Adu. There is a wealth of knowledge within room 12.

ReplyDeleteMaddie told me all about this Pri. She even asked if I could make her some indian sweets for her lunch box! Thanks for taking the time to share your culture with her :)
